Empty Vessels Make Most Noise. Government’s Response to Blackpool Action Plan is Non-Existent
Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Blackpool North & Cleveleys, Paul Maynard, has today criticised the Government for the weakness of their response to the Blackpool Action Plan.
“This report is proof that Labour have turned their back on Blackpool. On the same day they ditch the supercasino after months of fiasco, we also find out they intend to do nothing to offer us an alternative. In 17 pages, we get a series of re-announcements of existing small bits of money, and told to go away and find someone else for the big projects we really need, like a new conference centre.
“I wasn’t expecting a great deal from the Government, but the paucity of content in this report beggars belief. Our town’s Labour MPs must do a better job of representing this town’s interests – because this Report shows they are not managing it at the moment.”
