So they’ve been published. Those famous receipts. Except most of them have been blacked out. I’ve looked at Joan Humble’s receipts – I hadn’t realised stationery supplier Viking Direct sold chocolate biscuits, and in such quantities either. I have the same problem with Jaffa cakes, but then I don’t spend public money on them … !

As most are pointing out, the revelations that have done the damage would never have emerged had we just waited. 180 MPs have paid back money though. Would they have done so had we not had all this to-do?

And still we wait to see just what the new rules will be. Can I make one suggestion – all MPs must demonstrate how any expense claimed actually relates to them carrying out their official duties as an MP.

Just a thought.

    I agree.
I couldnt believe it when i saw the big black marks on those expenses forms. How stupid do they think we are?
Not to mention that the proposed reforms are a farce as well. It would not surprise me if the whole expenses scandal returns no positive results whatsoever.
