No, I haven’t gone AWOL, but I haven’t been blogging for reasons I don’t recall – time just flies by!
It never ceases to amaze me that whenever we have high winds, we have news reporters standing on a Promenade (often Blackpool) telling us all to keep away from said Promenade and not to make unnecessary journeys. Sound advice – if only they followed it themselves.
The Budget was not exactly a memorable one – other than the continuation of the war on plastic bags. Why do we make a fuss over plastic bags but not over the coal-fired power station that China opens up every other week? We could shut down the United Kingdom for the year tomorrow – and China’s increase in emissions would quickly make up for it. It is fine to be concerned to mitigate pollution in the light of acid rain and ‘climate change’ – but why go for the easy hits that make little overall difference, but duck the really difficult issues? That’s not leadership, that’s headline chasing.

Hello, and thanks for visiting my site! As the Conservative MP for Blackpool North and Cleveleys, my job is to serve the interests of my constituents and represent their concerns in Westminster. Hopefully, my website will bring you a little bit closer to what is happening and how you can get involved. Find out about where I stand on the things that affect us locally and how you can share your thoughts with me by using the links at the top of the page. I look forward to hearing from you!
