It’s been a busy, busy few weeks. I have been to two Brian House fundraising events. The first was at Blackpool Football Club – watching a DVD of the Blackpool-Preston game from before Christmas. It struck me a bit odd, watching a match you already knew the result of, but the atmosphere was everything! I doubt the recent derby match will be shown again since it was, by all accounts, a rather dull affair.
Then I was at the Wyre Mayoral Ball – in aid of Brian House also. A good time was had by all – even if I could not be enticed on to the dance floor.
We’ve also had the Post Offices back in the news. Nineteen Labour MPs voted against the Labour policy of shutting Post Offices in a Commons debate yesterday. Should we be surprised that Joan Humble was not amongst them? If you don’t vote against the closures, then surely that means you are for them. I look forward, as do many residents, to hearing why she thinks 12 Post Offices on the Fylde should be shut. Politicians can’t be saying one thing in Westminster, but another in Blackpool.
Hello, and thanks for visiting my site! As the Conservative MP for Blackpool North and Cleveleys, my job is to serve the interests of my constituents and represent their concerns in Westminster. Hopefully, my website will bring you a little bit closer to what is happening and how you can get involved. Find out about where I stand on the things that affect us locally and how you can share your thoughts with me by using the links at the top of the page. I look forward to hearing from you!
