I have long been arguing that Blackpool needs to make much, much more of its heritage as part of its regeneration strategy, so I’m really pleased to see the Council getting involved with the Blackpool Civic Trust to organise a series of open days.
Some visits are on a ‘just turn up’ basis. These include trips round the town hall this Saturday morning, tours up the Crocker Tower in Stanley Park on Sunday, and tours round North Shore Methodist Church on Dickson Road on Saturday.
Others require booking in advance, and they give you a chance to see hidden gems like Blackpool’s mosque and synagogue, a tour around the Illuminations Depot, one around Layton Cemetery, as well as tours round old favourites like the Tower and Winter Gardens.
The full list and details can be found at:
I’ll report back next week on my guided tour of Layton Cemetery.

Hello, and thanks for visiting my site! As the Conservative MP for Blackpool North and Cleveleys, my job is to serve the interests of my constituents and represent their concerns in Westminster. Hopefully, my website will bring you a little bit closer to what is happening and how you can get involved. Find out about where I stand on the things that affect us locally and how you can share your thoughts with me by using the links at the top of the page. I look forward to hearing from you!
