June 6 in blog by Paul Maynard MP

It’s been a rollercoaster week for me down in Westminster. As well as dealing with the mountain of post and the avalanche of emails in my inbox, I was fortunate enough to make my maiden speech to the House of Commons Chamber on Wednesday evening. Some of you may have already seen my appearance, but if you haven’t, it’s available again on my YouTube channel.

Besides that, there has been plenty of other constituency business for me to attend to which I talk about in my weekly Letter from Westminster email newsletter. If you’re not already a subscriber, why not sign up? It only takes a couple of clicks and keeps constituents like you up-to-date with what I’ve been up to!

What a brilliant speech. It hit exactly the right note: focussing on the challenges flowing from disability without self-pity; and, above all, pointing (with humility) to the contribution that can be made.
