I’ve been busy sifting through replies to my survey on long-term medical condition needs – thanks to all who replied. A more considered response will be blogged at some point this month.
I was particularly touched to receive the above. Indeed, I was laughing so much I had to be picked up off the floor. It had to be explained to me that ‘Wingnut’ is the modern-day reference to the fact my ears stick out.
Clearly, they have never met me. Had they done so, they would realise that there are far more obvious physical attributes to take the mickey out of me over!

Update: Xanthe has let me know that wingnut actually refers in the US to a ‘right-wing nut’ rather than the technical item with sticking-out bits. People like Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly. Given the current state of American political discourse, I am of the view that being likened to a shock-jock is perhaps more offensive!
