Blackpool North and Cleveleys MP believes passengers will experience a step change in comfort and convenience when new trains roll out on routes from Blackpool North.
Brand new electric trains are being rolled out on the route from Blackpool to Liverpool with more services switching to new stock before the end of the year.
Paul said: "I had the pleasure of visiting Blackpool North station to meet Northern MD David Brown and see one of the new electric trains which will enter service on the Blackpool to Liverpool route from Monday.
"I'm really pleased to see the first of these new trains for Blackpool and that Pacer units are being withdrawn.
"These trains will help our visitor economy and improve connectivity for local people. They are a real step change in terms of comfort and convenience from what has gone before and represent one more step in the transformation of the rail network.
"The new trains will initially operate on the Liverpool route and will be rolled out on services to Manchester later in the year. Diesel versions will also be taking over on Blackpool to York services in the coming months."
